Oh, wow, this is so unbelievably gorgeous! I love how you weave together so many different ideas of "fire" through Sam's pov--the religious, linguistic, and scientific. It feels so very Sam-ish to intellectualize in that way. I love how you highlight the idea of the prophet as a conduit for divinity, and how that's still something that's meaningful for Kevin, something he finds transcendence in, even as the Winchesters have forgotten the power of it in the day-to-day grind, where they're confronted with miracles so often they almost become routine. And I especially loved Sam recognizing somewhat uncomfortably that he likes how small Kevin is because it allows him to feel like a protector, and him seeing parallels to his relationship with Dean in that.
