I love this! There's a sense of anticipation, of possible danger, from the very beginning, yet Sam-in-the-kitchen is almost lighthearted. TDean's reaction to Sam's strawberry-sauce mishap was the turning point from light-hearted to dark. Their meal has a bit of a "Last Supper" vibe to it -- the sense of impending doom was beautifully done, just masterful. And the last line with Sam leaving the dirty dishes? Kicks like a mule, it does. Per-FEC-tion!
