Ah, I absolutely adore this! Not only is it perfectly in character and well-written, but you touched on so many of my favorite Jo/Bela points -- how Jo is a country girl while Bela's all big city, how Jo would be intrigued by Bela while still knowing that she can't trust her, how Bela would totally treat Jo like an equal.
Also Jo's still new to being on the job, and realizing: Being “the muscle” seemed like such a compliment at first, now she’s not so sure.
And yes, they'd be good at other things too! Thank you so much, kind gifter, this was the best gift ever!!!!
